Career Consultant, West Region

Keystone Partners is adding Career Consultants for key locations in an adjunct capacity to deliver career transition services to individual clients and/or groups in person or virtually. S/he also may facilitate webinars, and/or workshops. May participate in onsite/virtual notification meetings.

Opportunities currently exist in San Francisco and Seattle markets. We are also interested in speaking to applicants in Los Angeles, Austin, TX, and Colorado for future opportunities.  

Responsibilities

• Maintains a part-time “coaching load” which fluctuates.
• Develops a process roadmap for the participant that provides structure and direction. Identifies actionable steps and a timeframe for accomplishing those steps.
• Reviews/Strengthens/Assists in creating/updating resume(s), LinkedIn profiles, cover letters and other documents supporting participants’ marketing efforts.
• Proactively reaches out to encourage and support participants.
•Coaches participant on effective interviewing skills and preparation, including conducting video/virtual mock interviews.
• Assists participant in identifying strengths through formal assessments, exercises and interviewing for motivators/differentiators.
• Assists participant with networking strategy and techniques.
• Coaches those considering semi or full retirement in developing a plan for life after full time career
• Coaches those considering consulting or starting a business in the fundamentals of getting businesses started.
• Maintains in-depth understanding of the technology and industry solutions within given field of expertise.
• Regularly updates client tracking system with reports, notes and other pertinent participant information.
 
Experience/ Education/Knowledge Required:
  • 7-10 years’ experience typically with career counseling/consulting, HR, outplacement, talent management, recruitment or related areas or executive leadership with strong emphasis on mentoring, leading and coaching teams 
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Masters Degree in Psychology, HR, Business, or Career Management preferred
  • Strongly preferred: certified to administer MBTI and/or other career assessments such as Strong Interest Inventory, LEA, IDI
  • Knowledge of career development theories and techniques in working with diverse participant population
  • Prior corporate experience preferred
  • Experience and desire to coach individuals at all levels of an organization from individual contributors to senior executives
  • Demonstrated success setting and meeting goals and objectives, and coaching others to stay on track
  • Excellent computer skills and comfort with technology, and virtual tools; proficient with LinkedIn and other mainstream social networking practices
  • Understanding of local job markets especially, latest trends in job search/hiring
  • Experience and skills in live/web training/meeting facilitation
